pci-e 2.0 vc in a 1.0 slot? Currently using a 9600gt in a am2 mobo w/o pci-e 2.0. works good.
 
3870x2 in PCI-E 1.0 Mobo and also 2.0 Mobo and there is No performance differance,,Same when i tried my 9800GTX+ the only two cards that may make a differance are the GTX280 and a 4870x2..That will still not Max the PCI-E 1.0..thell push the limit but yet we still need a Bigger card to really max it .
 
I think there's a difference in performance, but only in synthetic number via. synthetic benchmark, not worth mentioning if You're talking about real gaming experience, at least not yet, not now.
