Is there a big difference between X800XT and XT PE?

[jeffoz]

I have been unable to find any benchmarks with plain X800XT's, on X800 XT PE's. From what I've gathered from several websites though, is this:

X800 Pro = 12 Pipelines, Core/Memory: 475/900
X800 XT = 16 Pipelines, Core/Memory: 500/1000
X800XT PE = 16 Pipelines, Core/Memory: 520/1120

Is the X800XT PE much better? I'm thinking of buying a regular X800 XT for $490, but I don't know if it'd be worth it.

Well the memory will give you a small difference. I would find a website who is creditable and who has reviewed both using a simular setup/same setup and see whats the difference

edit** I can downclock my card and give ya numbers on both, give me a few days. Mabey 01,03, qauke 3, cod, far cry, ect....

As far as I know the PE is just the flagship name for the AGP version since it came out first and needed a moniker to battle the 6800 Ultra. The x800xt regular is the same speed just PCIE version.

Negatory ghost rider. The XT has a slower core clock and memory clock than the PE.
