I'm thinking about getting the 360 kinect bundle console and i wonder is it Fun to play?

Also is it too late to get a 360? i'm really piss that Wii 2 is coming out by the end of this year when i just bought Wii on Nov last year.
 
To answer your question, the Kinect is fun, but at the moment there is basically no content for it. After you play Kinect Sports, Dance Central, and Your Shape: Fitness evolved, there is nothing else of note that is worth playing. I will say that it has a TON of potential though. We should be hearing a lot of stuff about the future of Kinect at E3 in a few weeks. Personally, I'm looking forward to how it is used in Forza 4.

I don't think it's too late to get a 360. Rumor has it that we won't be seeing anything new from MS or Sony for several more years. However, if Nintendo does indeed announce the successor to the Wii at E3 this year, I would definitely expect that to change. There's no way MS or Sony will allow Nintendo to have the newest/best system on the market for very long.

Lastly, I don't know how you can be pissed that the Wii might be getting replaced in the next year or so. This November will be 5 years since it's release. In the past, 5 years has generally been the point where new consoles were ready to be released. This is really the first console generation that has tried to change that trend.
 
I'm considering getting one just to hookup to a windows machine. It has a ton of potential for sensorless head tracking, 3d imaging, etc. I'm far more excited about the potential there than any of the console games that are currently announced. Right now there just isn't much out for it.
 
It's fun for exactly the same reason the Wii is fun. You'll play it for a few days then never touch it again more then likely. You'll have to wait till E3 rolls around to see if anything worth while is coming.
 
when Kinect, PS Move, or Wii has some fantastic FPS's...with some replica guns that cost like $20 and are picked up by the gaming system...

then it will be fun.

as it stands now, if you like track & field or sports games or dancing or working out playing video games then these are the systems for you LOL
 
nothing is fun nowadays, developers are all consolized and making crappy stuff.
 
my buddy has one, first week he had it, we played some games, had some fun and after a month he never uses it. good for groups of friends that are not gamers. the games that have you jump and stuff isn't for everyone. having 2 adults jumping around in a house is not always great. by buddy has a duplex and his neighbors complained.

i was hoping since it can track your body they would simply come out with games that used head tracking to give the 3D positioning effect but have heard nothing about it.
 
31 year old gamer here, primarily PC gamer with a console to round things out. I own Kinect and I enjoy it, as does my wife and son ... also whenever we have people over. For that alone, this device is a great success in my house.
 
I have not purchased one but I played it for a few hours at a friends house and it was a lot of fun. Also now it has the advantage of being the netflix remote that you won't lose.
 
It is really fun to have, I play it from time to time, definitely not as much as I used to. I'm still waiting for some big games to come out on it.
 
It's fun but that really depends on what type of games you like. Kinect adventures and kinect sports are fun to put on when you're having a few beers with friends.
 
It's fun for a bit. My kids love it. I like it, and the games are decent, but not great. I'd say that the ONLY reason I'm not completely sold on it is the software. I can play them, but I get bored. It does show off the technology, but just little replay value. I'd like to see Madden support it, that'd be pretty wicked.

But, like the Wii, it does get old. When with friends, though, it gets fun again.
 
I think it's fun if you have guests and friends playing with you. I played Dance Central at a friends house it was cool. Other than party/hosting games with friends, I have no use for it.
 
The Kinect is the best console add-on ever. Its a blast and works very well. My daughter has many games she plays usingit and she loves it. The biggest problem is having enough space to use it properly.
 
When I saw some people playing at bestbuy it seemed as tho there was substantial input lag. How does it impact you while playing a game?
 
At the University, there are several of us in the EE & CS departments that have Kinects that are PC hacked. Everyone is doing something different, some for fun, some as projects. I just thought it would be a cool mouse replacement. The code written to use it as a mouse for w7 is pretty cool. I was using it to play Dawn of War 2 last night... set up cool macros like when I make the jagoff motion with my fist my orbital strike is triggered.
 
Yeah, its really fun. I am hooked up on some Kinect Sports titles (table tennis and soccer), and my brother really likes Dance Central.
 
It has a lot of potential.

But to answer your question; no it is not, not for use by yourself at least.
 
Yeah it's fun...for a little... There are some games that you will enjoy for a little bit, then the novelty wears off. It was kind of like the Wii, played it all the time at first, then got bored with it. When people come over it is something nice to have though. I may get one just to try and see what other kind of fun software I can write for it.
 
I have had a 360 for a long time. I picked up a Kinect mainly to use on the PC. Controlling my xbmc media center with my hand while laying on the couch is great. Take note that the full out drivers will be released for it very soon.
