I have two WD 800jb's in my current PC. recently when you turn the PC off at night and turn it back on the morning it will spew through error loading bios. Disk read error, and all this crap. if you restart the pc like 80 times eventually it will load into windows and load perfectly. Think the HD is dying on me? I already backed up all information to my laptop.

Should i remove the disc the OS is on and swap the two HD's around and use the other for a main?

Have you used WD Diagnostic Tools to see if the drive is ok or failing?

no not yet, think i should do that?

also the exact second i take the case off to start working on figureing out if its really dead..

it starts working.

It is teh scared? O-o

and once it gets past the verifying DMI and where it would say error loading os, or whatever.

it works PERFECT. youd never guess something is wrong.

Yes, test the drive to see if it is in proper working order.

Is there a lot of heat built up in your computer or even fans in there?

yea there is fans its a shuttle xpc so the two hard drives are close together with limited cooling. but i dont think heat would be a problem after being off all night then turning it on.

From your statements so far, my best guess is a bad hard drive or bad PSU, but without more information on what the entire system is, it is hard to tell.

making any type of loud whine noises. Or is it noticebly louder when working?

Ya, that mode doesn't help very often does it? :p Glad to see you found your problem and was able to fix it.

yea it didnt help, altho the WD software that does say that the HD is SATA. Which i am sooo sure its not.
