My case is very wire messy and with the window I have I would rather have my hardware stick out rather then my wires. So I am curious to know if using scotch tape to tape some wires down and out of site of my window would be safe? I figured as long as it isn't conductive....

packaging tape is horrible to work with... nothing beats electrical tape... trust me.. i have tried

Scotch tape and packing tape would look absolutely horrible in a case. They don't stretch like electrical tape does so it would be difficult to get it right. Electrical tape sticks to itself well(like when wrapping around wires), but really doesn't stay stuck to other objects well(like taping wires to a case). Also, electrical tape leaves a nasty residue after being in place for a while. For taping wires down to other objects, nothing beats gaffer's tape. It is stronger than fuck, black, and doesn't leave a residue. For bundling wires, wire ties are often better than tape.

i would use either just zip ties or split loom + zip ties. i absolutely despise electrical tape on anything i plan to ever touch again. even in my car i use heat shrink and electrical tape really is a last resort. electrical tape will never find a home in my pc as long as i'm inclined to tinker with it because of that crappy residue.

i only use electrical tape on places i will probably never remove it from... for wire management, stick with zip ties... zip ties are cheap, efficient and useful

ive wrapped my psu wires and homemade rounded IDE cables in electrical tape.... nasty sticky stuff left behind
