I noticed this, this morning. My computer seems to work fine but when i play any movie file or try to go into exe applications my computer just freezes. WHen it happens with a movie i can hear a sound in the background but computer freezes to the point where i have to manully restart. When i enter a game i just get a black screen and it freezes. Any advice?

It could be overheating or something. Try opening up the side and pointing a fan at your case. Then try watching a movie. If it works your video card is just overheating. The fan will also blow out dust and crap that could be causing problem.

Also, make sure the fan on the card (if it has one) is moving.

This sounds quite similar to what just happened to my friend. The fan on his video card just stopped working. When the card was used for more than just running windows itself it would generate too much heat and just hang the machine. He had to get the card replaced and now everything works fine again.

Agh this POS card. Thanks for replies guys, sounds something like i have. Im getting X800XT as soon as its out and i actually saw one yesterday but im short about 40 bucks right now otherwise i would order it. I had Radeon 9800XT but i sold it so i could get x800 but the money didn't go to my account yet so im stuck with this VERY old TI 4600. I guess i shouldn't worry and just get a new card in a couple of days.

By the way, are there any X800 pros that are in stack right now for $400 or less?
Thanks again.

Ok i just tested how you told me. I think you might be right. I opened up my PC and videocard fan appears to be working fine. I put a big fan next to a computer and tried to run a game, Americas Army actually went inside the game this time, i quit that and tried Soldiers heros of the world war 2 demo and it also actually got to the menus this time but then froze. Before that it didn't even enter the game. Im just gonna get a new card. I just hope its the videcard though and nothing else.

Very old ti 4600? I have an overclocked geforce 3 ti-200, had it for like 2 years and a half, and it's still doing fine :p

Counterstrike, brood war, need for speed.

When HL2 comes out, I might reconsider ;)
MIGHT, since it's going to cost me nearly 600$ CAN to get my Canon A75 digicam.

Well i consider it old because i bought it when i had my P4 1.4ghz computer :)

Its like a year and a half-2 years old.

Hey Kryogen i'm buying a Canon A75 to, what accessories are you getting to make it add up to 600 bucks?
