I got the gpu 2 client going on my 4850 and the smp unit going on my x4 955 (stock, any overclock even 100mhz and folding (only folding) will crash my pc). Is this too low?

This is probably why, I didn't know that, I'm not sure how many I have done maybe 7? How long are they supposed to take because it usually takes a day or day and a half to finish one of them. The second thing is that you require 10 completed WUs before you start receiving the bonus points for the SMP client. It's very possible you are under the 10 minimum.
Give it a couple of more days and your PPD should make a big jump. Regarding the 4850, I think I recall around an average of 2500 PPD for the card alone, but don't quote me on this because I'm not sure. Maybe someone who has experience with systems similar to yours can help you optimize it.This is probably why, I didn't know that, I'm not sure how many I have done maybe 7?
Make sure you follow the instructions in here to lower the CPU usage of the ATI GPU client: http://hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1419852
username/appdata/roaming/folding@home-gpu/I can't find the .dll files, are they in some other folding directory besides the one in program files?
If you are using the system tray client, they will be in C:\Users\*your user name*\Appdata\Roaming\folding@home-gpu.I can't find the .dll files, are they in some other folding directory besides the one in program files?

I see mine has dropped from 38% usage to 11%. BIG drop. PPD has already risen 300 PPD. Thanks guys!
Now the smp unit is doing about 1% every 7 min alot faster than what it was doing before.
Yes, you will be able to run both clients. The nVidia GPU client does require a little bit of CPU power, but the effect on CPU PPD isn't significant until you start running two or more GPUs in the same system. When I put the 460 in here, I won't have these issues will I?

If it makes you feel any better I recently got a new AC adapter for my old laptop with a 7600 GO (Which can't fold) and a T5500 (Which is saying it's getting 130 PPD, it's also one of the only 2 C2D's that doesn't support VT). I just don't have a single piece of hardware well suited to folding. Everything is either old, or ATI![]()
