Is my cpu running too hot?

your cpus gonna melt! they were never meant to run at 40C!!!
no.. thats a fine temp, dont be worried until it get close to 60-70C
 
why did this deserve its own thread? surely a forum or google search and 5-10 minutes would've given you the info you wanted

I agree, but what I was actually going to say is.....how is this thread beneficial at ALL? we dont' know what cpu he's got and what kind of cooling he has, yet we're sposed to make an educated comment on his temps. :confused:

Depending on where someone lives and what time of year it is, I suppose that 33C for a case temp ain't bad, but I (personally) consider that high, seeing as mine is a constant 24C.....another thing that's kind of vague in the post.

I don't mean to come down on you dude, but you could have spent a few minutes searching through the forums for a quick answer to this question, instead of posting up a thread of your own, completely devoid of any necessary information. :rolleyes:

It's all good though, just hopefully you'll remember for next time. ;)
 
my low temps are 27C case and 43C cpu tbred b 2400+ running underneath a sk7 with a 75 cfm fan blowing air through it....

i ordered a zalman ZM80D cause i was a little worried about my ti 4200 being 127 F idle i also wanted some thing that when i upgraded video cards i could move the zalman over and it would still be effective...
 
Dark - post up your specs so that way when someone else does a search, this thread will pop up with a possible answer.

i'd give my left nut for a temp in the 40c range. :D i am consistently in the 60c-65c range. even w/o the o/c going i'm in the upper 50's.

Don't feel too bad, you're running an Abit board. My onboard temp sensor on my AS8 says I'm running 65 c under load, and that's with watercooling. :rolleyes:

i never really bother with probes anymore unless its a probe from a wire i put in... its good for comparisons of before vs after tho
 
unless your using vapor cooling or phase change cooling 5C is pretty much impossible, my friend uses watercooling and is averaging 20-25C
