My PC is running REALLY hot but it looks like i have done most I can do currently. Running a game with full graphics CPU gets to around 85-95c. I've heard of people OCing these on stock cooler's. Im about to UC it to just get 45c temps.

Antec Mini P180 mATX case
Asus rampage gene II matx mobo
i7 920 2.6ghz D0 CPU
Stock cooler
ATI 4890 video card

Pictures below of all temps, and the CPU-Z info.

Do I possibly have something setup wrong in the bios? I kind of just set the bios to defaults, switched the memory from 1066 to 1600 and that was really it.

Is this a new occurrence or has this been ongoing? Definitely make sure the case and fans aren't caked with dust.

I would invest in a better heatsink such as the Hyper 212+. Its cheap and does a much better job than a stock cooler would. Although, ambient temps play a huge role in temperatures so if you keep your room/house/whatever kinda hot, its going to change temps for the worse.

Okay, so took the advice and I've got a Venomous X RT on its way now. I also opened up my computer, removed the current heatsink & fan, dusted it all out, cleaned it, regreased and reapplied it for now to see if mattered much.

The temps dropped about 2c.

I do keep the room about 78f all the time.

One thing I was thinking may help is move the PC from under my desk to on top? It is a ikea table so the bottom is wide open and has plenty of room, but maybe the heat cant escape the space?

I'll re-update the thread once I get the new cooler in and see what happens.

Is there any 120mm fans or any setup people would suggest for confiuring fans? I have the GFX card + 1x 120mm blowing air out the back. I have the 200mm fan on top blowing air out the top and then I added a 120mm fan to the front, sucking air into the case. Would it be better to just have a passive intake and remove that from 120mm fan?
