Right, ive been overclocking for a long time on this board, around a year.

Ive recently noticed jerkiness in games - actually, ive had it for some time. My cpu temp is a fair bit higher than it used to be - but, i have moved, and the room im in is a lot hotter ambiently.

However, my idle temp on the LM90 is 49ish. Load is around 55, which is normal - I think the clip is a bit worn from being off and on so much :>

I did boot without the hsf attached properly, my 75frn2 shut down. I reinstalled the hsf, and its been hotter ever since - HOWEVER, i think i bent the clip a bit (was trying to add a temperature sensor, which obviously obstructed my hsf and caused it not to seat properly)

Right. Im running a gf4 4200. soltek frn2-rl. 512 geil. 2x WD 80gig SE. Enermax 350w. Volcano 11 + ducting mod. 1 80mm front, 1 80mm back and a 120mm blowhole. Temperatures dont seem to be a problem.

The cpu DOESNT fail under prime95, at stock or overclocked settings (well, it doesnt fail in around 15 hours, which i think is probably ample).

I really noticed this in q3 playing bots recently, as demos are smooth as silk, but in game the bots are basically teleporting half body widths rather than actually smoothly moving.

Any ideas :(?

when I moved my temps went up too I was getting jerkyness in games however it was my videocard getting hot
you should try to reseat your heatsink

My gfx card hsf? Yeah, i might do that - I'll check the fan too, its a fairly wussy one, but a pretty large hs on it.

I meant to reseat the cpu heatsink
and maybe to direct so more air toward both the cpu and the gpu see if the problem clears up

have you checked your Thermal Paste on your CPU?

you say you've been OCing for about a year on the board, so maybe the Thermal Paste has just worn out?

try putting on a new coat of something nice like AS Ceramique.
