I currently have a 7900gtx. I keep getting little multicolored dots all over the screen. If I use the tittle bar and move the window, the dots multiply and leave colored streaks. When I play some videos, the screen goes black and then back to normal over and over. Any ideas?

i'm afraid its probably done man. i have an X300 that does the same thing. i know theyre totally different cards, but artifacting is artifacting. i tried that same card in 3 different PC's, same problem. swapped that card out for another in both PCs, no streaks or artifacts.

you can try re seating the heatsink, but thats all you can do, and no don't try anything else because it probably won't fix it.

now if you happen to have a BFG, XFX, or EVGA card, they might honor the warranty for you, and you can get a new one. :D

sorry man, i know it sucks :( my 3870 just decided it didn't wanna work in with my Processor being OC'd, then USPS lost it. i know how you feel man :/

Update drivers, remount the heatsink, check the fan, clean the connectors, check the PSU.

There is a useful video card memory test you can try:

http://mikelab.kiev.ua/index_en.php

If it fails, its still not much you can do unless you can replace surface mount memory chips...

If this is happening right after a reboot then it might be time to take advantage of a warranty...or get a new card. Good news is vid cards are on the cheap these days.
