Is Linx as good as Prime95?

Thread title says it all.

Reason I ask is, I've stumbled across some threads that said running Prime95 on old Lynnfield CPU's could cause unwarranted coil/capacitor buzzing during benching etc.

So, if this issue does not preset itself in Linx, should I assume I'm good to go?

Thanks.

Agreed, more preference. I personally use a modified x264 loop for my stressing.

I don't think so. I've had too many machines that would pass IBT but would fail prime with all of the available ram set to use in the custom tab.

Don't really recall that being an issue with my lynfield cpus thankfully.

I just like that prime is so repeatable. Failing IBT seems so random.
