Is Latency worth the extra?

Hi Guys,

I want to buy 4GB of RAM as 2x2 for a new Abit IP35-Pro that I want to moderately overclock with a 6750. I have been given lots of good advice from this and other forums but still don’t know what to purchase. Some responses conflict as to whether latency is more important than speed. My choice is down to:

Corsair QUAD2X 6400C5DHX DDR2 4096MB CL5 CL5-5-5-15 @ € 229.00
(4x 1 I know, but lots of recommendations.)
OCZ Gold XTC PC2-6400 2x2GB (4096MB) CL5-5-5-15 @ € 308.00
OCZ Gold XTC PC2-6400 2x2GB (4096MB) CL5-5-5-12 @ € 279.00
OCZ Vista UpGrade PC2-6400 2x2GB (4096MB) CL 5-6-6-15 @ € 269.00
G.Skill Extreme2 PC2-6400 2x2GB PQ F2-6400CL5D-4GBPQ @ € 214.69

Why the price spread on the OCZ and why is the G.Skill so cheap in comparison? I need to buy soon as RAM prices are shooting up in Europe.

My guess, the 5-5-5-15 is an older revision (at work, not checking stores)
OCZ Vista UpGrade PC2-6400 2x2GB (4096MB) CL 5-6-6-15 @ € 269.00
Value line, pretty much. Not really intended for enthusiasts.

I don't know about where you are, but around here G.Skill isn't as well known as OCZ. That's not to say it's bad, it's just not known- around here WalMart carries OCZ products.

just curious, why a 6750? the 6700 is easier to overclock.. lower stock fsb -> higher cpu multi. less fsb is needed to hit the same cpu overclock, and it gives you a bit more flexibility with the memory ratios
