I have been following this site for some time now as a guest, drooling over the "Displays" section and I must admit that this site is da bomb
Seeing all these great LCD monitors you guys have
, one inevitably gets the bug to want to make the move to an LCD monitor. I have decided to make the move by buying an LCD for my wife at first so that I can check her monitor out myself and decide if LCD is my thing or not yet..
I am pretty fussy about my display as I am the proud owner of one of the best large CRT's in the market right now IMO, the Sony GDM-FW900 24" Flat Widescreen (http://www.sel.sony.com/SEL/consumer/ss5/generic/displaymonitors/professionalseries/index.shtml). That means that my personal purchase will have to wait a bit, cause I am use to a big screen and the only LCD's on the market that I find appealing at the moment are the two 23" inch ones (Sony SDM-P234B and the HP L2335) and the lovely Viewsonic VP201B 20.1" (and that thanks to sandman78's review plus the comments I read from poopman)
I am looking to buy a 19" 12ms TFT for my wife in order to replace her Viewsonic 19" CRT E92f+ and I am between the Viewsonic VP912B (http://www.viewsonic.com/products/desktopdisplays/lcddisplays/proseries/vp912b/) and the Sony SDM-HS94P (http://www.sony.co.uk/ShowProduct.do?site=odw_en_GB&category=Flatpanel+LCD&product=SDM-HS94P). I have done a search in the forum on thread concernig these 2 monitors and I have read some but I still cant figure out what the general consensus is about which 19" 12ms monitor is the best.
Furthermore, I would like to ask you lot if u think that if it worth it that I move from one of the best CRT's in the market to an LCD at the moment? I bought my 24" about 2,5 years ago here in Greece for about $2500 and I don't think I will be able to sell it for more than 1400-1500 euros ($1735-1860) and it all boils down to if its worth to make the move...
BTW, the VP201B cost around 1100 euros here ($1350), so its not as cheap as it is over there..
any input is welcome, thnx
