I'm dead set on getting an LCD display and I'd like it to be 19" or so. I found a Sceptre on newegg which claims to have a 12ms response time. It only comes with a 1 year limited warrantee, but it also comes in under $500 with shipping included.

I don't game very much, but I do like to watch movies on my computer. Would I be better off (staying under $500) with a different monitor?

Thanks for any advice,
B

For that price i would get a 710T it will be just a better Monitor. remeber on LCS 17" really is 17" not like on CRts i find a 17" to be just fine becosue if you dont have a amazing video card you will only want to run todays top games at 1280x1024. if you get a 19" and ur graphics card sucks then the picture will be crappya nd ur pc wont handle running at native resolution

I am wondering about the sceptre 12ms too, and I'd have to disagree with the above post (atleast I think I disagree, as it is hardly understandable), if you are not much into gaming (and even if he was 1280x1024 hardly requires a 400$+ video card, as he mentions) the extra 2 inches is nice, and for cheaper than the 710t (atleast on newegg). Been waiting for some comments on the sceptre though, as I dont know much about it, and sceptre's website coudl be the worst site ever made.

Sceptre has a very good reputation for their LCD televisions. I would be shocked if this monitor didn't stack up to the BenQ.

I just found out tonight that $1000 will be headed toward me in the next week. So I'm starting to see if I should get the monster HP 23" or save my change to pay what potentially may be fines. Innocent until proven guilty though. I'm thinking of taking my chances.

Well, I did it. I purchased the Sceptre. I should have a brief review of it in a week or so.

Congrats.

And btw for watching movies any decent 25ms will be fine. You don't necessarily need 12ms.
