I'm still in the process of picking parts for my computer... I am settled on this video card...
ASUS Geforce 7900GTX EN7900GTX/2DHTV/512M Video Card - Retail http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?item=N82E16814121002

I am planning on buying 2 Dell 24inch widescreens... so this card with it's two DVI ports will be able to handle that. My question is what advantage (with just 2 monitors) is there to having two video cards?

I understand that were I to purchase an additional monitor totaling 3 I'd need another card, but with only 2 what do I gain by adding an additional card?

Thanks,
Shhhh

Not sure what you mean by your question. As long as your card supports dual dual-link DVI output, there would absolutely be no advantage in having two cards vs. one if you're just talking about having two monitors. Gaming on the 24" LCD is another matter.

I do a lot of charting and trading from home, I play games and I do web designing "in my spare time" I currently have 2 computer with 4 19 inces between them.... time to upgrade.

What about in terms of game play? does having two video cards make games with high graphics content run smoother? Personally other than having more than 2 DVI monitors I don't know what the advantage is. Hopefully some one here can help enlighten me! :)
