Is it worth having two hard drives?

Hey guys, I was wondering for my new custom built computer if i should put in two internal hard drives. I already picked out a 320 GB Seagate for $100, and was wondering If I should grab a cheaper one and just run my computer processes on one hard drive and all software/downloads on the other. Any opinions are appreciated!

Thanks

I'm a fan of placing my swap file on a second drive - when I have a suitably fast one available. Otherwise a strictly data drive, like for downloading a file sharing, does't really seem to *need* fast data access.

I would be taking advantage of RAID (either stripe or mirror, depending on application) if I were ponying up for 2 drives from the start.

Considered a network-storage solution? That's is becoming increasingly appealing to me, since every PC I own gets messed around with so much I don't have any reliable centralized storage. :p

the OS and games and everyday stuff should always have a fast drive.
for other stuff like movies or what not, yeah you can cheap.

there is the OS/programms drive that always should be fast
and the storage drive, which can be slow.

I use two hard drives in a mirror raid and 2 partitions. Windows/installs on the first partition and data on 2nd part. Saved me big time once so far and it fairly easy way to go, especially with how cheap HD space is.
