Currently I have a i5 2500k runnig at 4.2Ghz, 8GB of ram, geforce 660gtx and an ssd hdd. I was thinking about upgrading to a haswell system since mine is almost 3 years old but, i was reading if I have my current one the there is no reason too. So im asking the opion of others get a haswell or wait for skylake when the socket changes? Thanks.

I'd wait for Skylake. I recently went from a 2600k to a 4770k after my old PC died in a house fire and I don't really notice any difference. At least with Skylake, you'll be on the next socket and DDR4 with more of an upgrade path. If there's something that you really need more power for right now, buy an h100i or h80 and overclock.

If you really have the itch to upgrade really badly, wait for Maxwell and upgrade your video card

Haswell is a sidegrade, imo. Overclocking isn't as guaranteed, and performance gains, if any, aren't much of an improvement. IPC is marginally better, but is offset by lower OC clockspeeds.

Your 2500k could probably easily hit 4.5 if you spent a little more time with it. I think the only worthwhile upgrade would be your video card, but it all depends on the games you play. If all you play is League of Legends, then you definitely don't need to upgrade. :D

If you're feeling the itch get yourself a better GPU or bigger or second monitor or both.
