I currently have a Geforce FX5600 w/ 256MB DDR ram. I have been playing Doom 3 a lot recently, and I can play it fairly well, some video lag, but not horrible. It is good enough to where I can still play it and still get the S@!% scared out of me. Do I need to get a new video card, or should I wait when I do a full system upgrade???

Don't have the cash right now to do a full system upgrade...Wedding to pay for :(

Suggestions plz.

I am running on a AMD 2600+, OCed to a 2.4, stock 2.0
w/ 1 GB Mushkin PC3200 RAM

If you can wait... I'd suggest waiting for the nForce 4 chipset which will give you the option of SLI if you so choose. You're video card isn't the greatest, but if you can still enjoy the games you play then keep it - especially if you have a wedding coming up.

With your system a 6800nu is your best bet, costs about 300 dollars or 200 pounds. The Leadtek is a very solid choice for the nu, it's stable, quiet and overclocks very well.

Would even going up to say a 9800Pro be a good idea, or would it be a waste of money?
