i have a pc downloading torrents in my closet(will eventually be server) and im wondering is it safe to keep it in a closed closet especally since it gets hot in there? its a pentium D 820 stock in a cooler master centurion 5 case.

I imagine it'll eventually cook itself. Leave a door open to be sure.

No lol.
A friend had his PC in a cupboard that he opened when he used it.
One day his son knocked the door shut and that was the end of that PC.

Another friend put his PC under the stairs without ventilation and cooked a memory module.

its auctually not hot at all in the closet just warm. and theres hole in the bottom of the door and the closers pretty big so i think theres enough ventalation.

the temps seem to be find for the pent.D to/

I would think a closet wuld be fine, a cabinet is probably too small, but any decent size closet would have enough heat transfer to be effective. Might limit overclocking, but you're probably not too concerned about that.

the closets pretty big, i just checked and it seemed about 80 in there, and the motherboard sucks anyway so i cant even oc.

One funny story with sill heat problems is an old lady brought her PC to my bench.

The problem?

It wouldn't turn on.

The cause?

She had covered the entire PC in the matching wallpaper of her room. Vents, drives and all but rear connector panel/power button.

I was just in awe of what people do with their computers sometimes.
