Hey guys,

There seems to be conflicting advice on the topic. I did a search and most threads before 2006 say that you can delete the folder and all of its contents. Most threads dated after 2006 recommend not deleting c:\nvidia. I'm having a hard time telling if it's just a temp folder or not.

I'm using the latest drivers (186.18) with a GTX 275 on Vista x64.

Thanks

If you open the folder you will see that your 186.18 drivers are in there.

Why do you want to delete it?

It should be safe to delete. Usually, that folder is where the drivers are unpacked before being installed (much like AMD does). Unless they changed how their stuff installs, that folder is just a temp dump.

You can delete it, its your standard everyday driver temp folder that doesn't get deleted with uninstalls and reinstalls. Important stuff is in the programs directory.

Can be a very useful folder however if you often switch back and forth between drivers, I often have several sets in there of drivers that worked very well and delete the others and I can just install them from there.

Kind of related to the original question but why does the Control Panel list the Nivida Driver's size as 3 gb?
