hey guys, im new to this part of the forum...anyway i am trying to play need for speed underground 2 on my computer....

amd 3000+
512mb(2x256)
120gig hard drive
dvd+/-rw
etc

and it works(the grphics are horrific but it works) i currently have no grphics card, im still shiopping around and when ever i play the computer always just shuts down. i use to use an 480watt apower psu but that blew the first time this happened when i was playign NFSU2 but then i tok the psu from my sony vaio and stuck it in here and it works but instead of blowing it just automatically shutsdown the computer and i cant turn it on i need to reset the surge protector in order for it to turn back on....is it over heating or what else could it be..when i put my hand on any of the parts there pretty cool....

Driver issue if it's only one game. Or game issue.

I had MAJOR problems with a few games and my sound drivers. I'd try new sound drivers.

get a decent power supply. problem solved.

i love antec's - either true power/control or the NeoPower480 (what i got now)

i only say this because you blew the first junk one up, and i know the Vaio's PS will not do the job either.

If it only happens with the Sony PSU, U may wanna swap it, as that seems to bee the root prob. I wouldnt add components (new GPU) until u get that resolved, as thats a pretty big deal....

well the old psu blew the same way the current psu shuts down//oh yeah i had the enopwoer480 with my 7800gtx oc system....good ol days :)

don't risk your hardware!!!

DROP 50 BUCKS ON A GOOD PSU...then troubleshoot the issue ASAP!!!

hmmm... onboard graphics plus a psu you got from a sony vaio...
yea - i'd agree w/ the prior posts and start w/ a decent PSU. sounds like money's an issue - I'd also try a budget vid card too to help offload some of the workload from the board...

well the enermax has dual 12 volt rails and im assuming its overkill cuz when i had an x2 3800+ and a 7800gtx oc( i got em the first week they were out to give you a time frame) and i had a neopower 480 and thats handled it all very very well...secondly anyone kow why im become a n00bie? i used to be a [h]ardgawd??
