I have a Microsoft intelli Explorer 4.0 mouse, its not wireless.

Its a 3 month old mouse and im not sure if this is a hardware or software problem but...

Sometimes when i click for example a hyperlink, it doesnt actually register as ive clicked it. Ive pressed the mouse button, i hear the mouse click, it all feels good but the hyperlink doesnt load until i click it again.
The same happens with clicking on a button etc

is it my mouse?
 
have u tried the mouse on a different computer? have you tried a different mouse on the computer where the problem is happening?
 
I havent tried it on another computer but ill try it on my uncles pc when i can.
I havent got another mouse so i cant try that on here.

Has problems like this happened before with people that turned out to be software related?

Another example of this mouse button not clicking is in a text box like the one on google.com you click in the search box to type and you can click on a white space outsde the box to click out, going back and forth clicking in and out of the box doesnt always work first time, i sometimes have to click 2 or 3 times.
 
Does the issue happen on all hyper links or just one in particular? it could be an internet explorer issue; assuming that is what your using. Link us to the hyper link your trying to click on.

What I've done in the past when IE has acted up is just to do a simple uninstall of IE and reinstall it. You shouldn't need anything to do this; windows should be able to install it for you. Other then that I'm not really sure what the problem could be.

Let me ask you this does your mouse not work right away on other things? Like double clicking and stuff does that work 100% of the time?
 
yah dood it sounds like ither the cable from the mouse to the puter is messed up or the clicker is dying, theres microshit for u :D
 
on a good note, Micro$lave is awesome for replacing those things. at least, thats what my old coworker at the tech trailer used to swear about em.
 
It happens all on things now, its getting worse.

Double clicking a icon doesnt always work, i have to hit the button harder for it to work most times now.

If its the cable, how would i know? it doesnt appear to be tangled.

This mouse is new, well its only a few months old. I had a Microsoft IntelliExplorer 3.0 and that lasted me over a year before it broke. I rang microsoft because i heard about their life time gurantee and they sent me the new 4.0a free of charge.

If i cant fix it, i might ring them up and ask for another.
