• Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.

is it just me

are alot of ppl stepping out of line or mods/admins flexing alot of e-muscle lately?

im not questioning authority only saying seems like some are being a bit nazi like. :p

everything aside, still love this place, dang nabbit, i gotta subscribe now to get hobbies, u win u capitalist!

I think it would be a little of both, generally unless there is an open rebellion against mods/admins it creates a chicken-and-egg question. Did the mods start acting like fascists and cause users to act up or did users start acting like idiots and bring things on their own heads? Users would generally support the first idea, especially if they believe they have been wronged. Admins would lean toward the latter, and being both an (inactive) admin (my site is being worked on, my friend is coding REAL slow) and a user, I can see both sides.

Plus, technically, administrators are law, regardless of what one might say about the First Amendment or whatever. The First Amendment protects against the Government, not web admins. Further, this site is privately owned and operated, so even if people think the admins are "Nazi-like" they have no recourse really. However, if a site's admins get a reputation for being jerks, the community will disappear so admins have a vested interest in being as fair as possible.

couldnt have said it better.

i can see both sides, and agree that LAW is needed, without would be no order.

would be little goblins and trolls running around here.

feel free to lock this thread up anytime, i was just bored and figured id see if anyone noticed any mods/admins maybe missing meds?lol j/k

The mods/admins don't have an agenda or vendetta on the members and we try to be more than fair, but the rules will be followed. If a member goes out of bounds and gets a warning, it's not up for debate. If the member wants to contest the warning from a moderator, they take it to an Admin. If the Admin's ruling isn't satisfactory, they have the option to go directly to Kyle.....but if you just want to argue the authority to enforce the rules, you are going to have a bad day. We are fair and try to accommodate everyone, but the rules and smooth operation of the forum are the top priority.

Remember not to judge the actions of the mods/admins on a one sided argument. We do not discuss specifics of punitive actions, so you never get the full story ;)

Okay, then. ;)

There have been a few people upset about Kyle's recent decision to move off-topic forums (Cars, Hobbies) to the off-topic subscription area (General Mayhem). Several have decided to commit forum hare-kare and push the envelope in their attempts to get banned.

As mentioned, this forum is privately owned and operated and First Amendment rights do not apply here. The mods/admins do not make the rules, but rather, try to ensure that they are fairly and evenly enforced. I think we have one of the finest moderating teams of any forum on teh intarweb. Any mod on a power trip or with an attitude problem won't cut it here.

EDIT: Dang, that Major is one fast old fart! Step outside for a breath of stale air to collect your thoughts, and he'll beat you to the punch every time. :p
