God I hate vague topics. I guess you're referring to the latest video cards. They are PCI-E. PCI Express.


PCI-X is completely different and it's safe to say that you should drop it from your vocabulary unless you want to start running a server with a SCSI controller or something else equally demanding for bandwidth.

It makes as much sense as using Athlon and Pentium interchangeably.
