Hi people. I just got a new laptop (dell e1705) and its default refresh rate is 60 Hertz

In advanced settings or whatever I was able to overclock it to 85, No noticable problems... Seems to work. I just want to find out if I am damaging the monitor at 85 Hertz and if i should go back to 60. Also I read before the higher the refresh rate the better it is for your eyes. Is that true?

At moment im at 60 Hertz just in case anything higher then default damages the screen. So can you please tell me the downsides/upsides of having Higher refresh rate as well as if its going to damage the screen

Thank you!

No such thing as overclocking refresh rate, at least not that I know of. If the monitor doesn't go blank then your fine.

Also the refresh rate on LCD's isn't such a big deal as on CRT's with the flicker, so 60hz is fine.
