Is it a dead pixel or a stuck pixel?

Hi guys,

I got a new VX2025wm and have a dead/stuck pixel on it. Problem is, I can't work out if it is dead or stuck

If the screen is displaying say red, orange, pink or a colour like that, the pixel is black full on and does not change colour.

If the screen is displaying white or yellow or a colour like that, the pixel is blue.

If the screen in black, it is fine.

The first instance makes it sound like a dead pixel because it is full black, but the second instance is confusing me because that sounds like a sub pixel or stuck pixel defect.

I've tried running the recommended programs to clear it and tried to massage it out but no good.

Can someone help please, does it sound stuck or dead

Cheers guys

black is usally dead. :(

Indeed you are right. I'm slightly confused though why it turns blue on light colours, black on darker ones and doesn't appear on dark blue or green, grey e.t.c backgrounds.

It doesn't seem to fit the pattern of a stuck pixel or a dead pixel and seems somewhere in between

either hit it with a hammer or rub it gently with ur finger. tho the latter will have better results.

A pixel is compose of three subpixels blue, green, red... A combination that gives you 262k (6bit) /16.7 million (8bit) colours. It seems both the green and red subpixels are dead. While the blue subpixels still is able twist the polarity of light to give some of the shades...of 64 or 256 brightness levels

Excellent reply Askanison, thanks ever so much! That explains why it is black on some colours and blue on others.

I tried rubbing it and tapping it through a cloth, as well as running UDPixel and other such programs but no good.

Thanks so much guys.
