is 6800 Ultra worth it

Friend recommended me the 6800 ultra for my next video card. Has anyone use this card? is this card worth it compared to 6800GT for example.. I saw on pricewatch somebody sellin it for pretty good price...

6800gt is the same thing really.. but slower clock speeds... no the 6800ultra is not worth it... I was searching for a 6800gt when I was shopping for a new videocard... there wasn't any so I grabbed the 6800U just because of that reason... anyways.... it's either go 6800gt or all the way and 7800gtx

Definately not. The 6800GT might be worth the price, but you can get a 7800GT or 7800GTX for the price of a 6800Ultra.

excellent card - very expensive.
If your willing to spend that much money, you would be better off going with a 7800gt. the GTX will run you a bit more than that yet.
If money is of any concern to you, a 6800GT will be just fine. 16pipelines, slightly lesser clock speed than the ultra.
I have a 6800 OC in my other computer, and i can tell you that its great. Excellent card, the GT is that much better though. My buddy has one. its pretty amazing what that card can do.

Honestly, if your going to buy a 6800 Ultra...Stop! Most 6800Ultras are most expensive than the 7800GTX's and are slower. If your going to get a good card, 7800GTX or GT is the way to go. Both of them out perform a 6800Ultra.

Get the 7800 gt. It cost about the same as a 6800 Ultra, but spanks it in each and every category.
