I was recommended by a member to post here my problem and here it goes: (BTW details can be found HERE )

Possible spec:

MB: ASUS P8Z68-V
CPU: i5 2500K
RAM: CORSAIR KIT 8GB DDR3 1600MHZ VENGEANCE(CL9)
GPU: Currently have a GT240 but I'm thinking to upgrade it after, but aiming for a 150€ video card or so.

So now the ultimate question is a NOX URANO 500W enough for this?

I can't find any detailed information about that PSU, which means it's probably not very good. I would recommend replacing it. 500W would be enough if you had a good PSU.

Hope this helps:

Thanks for the help so far

What I really need to see is the inside, but there's no real way for you to do that without voiding the warranty (assuming it still has one).

That's a very low end Super Flower PPFC unit(SF500P12P)... even though it could power a 6870 for example, you really want a better PSU :)

I setup the following build for a customer recently -

AMD Athlon II x4 3.4GHz
8GB DDR3 ram
AMD 6870 GPU

Plus the usual bits and pieces. Running the Unigine Heaven Benchmark at high quality etc. it pulled around 220W tops.

I said a 500W Corsair/Antec/Enermax etc. would be fine but he asked for a 600W so we put in the standard 600W Corsair one. Overkill but there you go.

With your planned build with a newer-generation mid-range GPU, that 500W PSU is barely adequate if you're not overclocking at all. You see, many older-generation and/or lower-end PSUs cannot handle their stated wattages without their DC output going out of the ATX spec in some ways. If you want to overclock to a moderate degree, you do need a 500W to 550W PSU - just a better-quality one. An Antec HCG520 (High Current Gamer 520W), based on a Sea Sonic platform, would be a significant improvement over that budget SuperFlower-based design.

ya you get what you pay for...I purchased a Raidmax 530W PSU cause it had decent reviews and was only $39. Wish i would of paid $30 more and gotten one that had excellent reviews. No issues yet, running a i3-2100, 2 HDD's, 1 DVDRW and 1 5750 card (single 6pin pwr) I have more then ample amounts of power, however now with indepth research, im just buying time to get a good one. Hate for this thing to act up (like most cheap PSU's) and destroy everything inside my box.

I believe a 500W psu (true 80) is good enought. It also bought to my attention that there is a $10 rebate on Cooler Master xXtreme 550W till end of this month.

That is a very poor power supply.
NewEgg has a good deal on the Antec EarthWatts 500W for $69.99. 44A combined on the 12V+ rail. I'd say that should tie you over.

Good PSU, but not that great of a deal. You can often find good 500W PSUs for around the $50 mark.
