Is 1GB Ram Sufficient?

Thats my system .Could i run games(such Frear Battlefield 2) easily without havin a ram prob.
Should I change the CPU .
Will it coz any probs coz its 1MB L2 Cache

May I make a suggestion, you should get rid of one of those MSI 7800 GTX's, get one eVGA 7800 GTX KO, 2gb's of Ram, and a Athlon X2 4400+ instead of the SLI'd GTX's. You can add, a second GTX later, when it's necessary. You'll get more out of your money this way, and it will probably end up being a smidge cheaper.

You will want 2GB of RAM. No use going whole hog on everything else to compromise on RAM that will cause hitching, especially at the high IQ levels that your GTXs will deliver. With only 1GB of RAM and 256MB on the video cards, textures need to be swapped in between the system RAM and video RAM, and you may even be forced to page to disk, which will drop your frame rates to the single digits.

Also, an X2 3800 will be fine. The difference between the two L2 cache sizes is only really noticable in synthetic benchies. Also, moving to GenHard - looks like you've decided on what video cards to get

I would drop one of the 7800s and get the extra ram. you might get a faster cpu if you can, but not that big of deal...

With that kind of system it doesn't make sense to me to limit yourself to 1GB. 2GB would allow you to run pretty much anything with ease as well as put a delay on any upgrades for quite a while.

another vote for more ram and dumping one of the 7800's. are you honestly running at such insane resolutions and detail levels that you really need two of them? If you're not running everything at 6xaa and 16xaf at super high resolutions...you'll get more benefit out of more ram than you will two 7800's. Like the other poster said...you can always add one later if it's needed.

My opinion: Take a single eVGA KO GTX, 2 gb of ram (ballistix, that OCZ is useless for the most part w/ a DFI board), and a faster @ stock cpu (4400+ X2). Just my opinion.

The only 2GB rams thats available 2 me is OCZ 2GB PC3200 DDR400 its in the smae price with the PC5000 DDR 625 1 GB.
By changin this ram i lose many possibilities of overclocking.
What should i do

I agree with just about everybody. Drop down to one GTX (preferably a BFG or eVGA) and up the RAM to 2 gigs. It'll help a ton in games like FEAR and BF2 where textures are utilized a lot and heavily. It'll also help load times immensly.

fyi - you don't have to run your ram 1:1 with an A64. do a search on (cf)eclipse's stuff and check it out. good reading. very informative.

do some benchies too. run your system overclocked and then run your system overclocked with the ram at a divider. Play games like that...because synthetic don't mean jack unless all you do with your machine all day long is run synthetic benches. You'll see very little difference with the A64's. Certainly not enough that you'll feel inadequate

just went from 1gig to 2 gigs of ram. saw a nice boost in performance. Things seem to load much faster. Graphics appear to be tighter and clearer. So, Im pleased with going up to 2gig. Did I have to do it.. probably not. I did it cause I could.

i suggest that you change the GTX to a pair of 7800GTs, and then upgrade to 2GB of ram....price should be the same....and it's a overall better system

if you plan on playing BF2 then 2gb of ram is a must, if only to give you a huge advantage at the start of each new map. i can spawn, grab a jeep and take a flag before most players are even in.
