Hi,

I bought an AMD fx6300 and Asus m5A78L-M-USB3 mobo.

When I run OCCT or Prime95 to stress test my over clocks I get massive dives in the CPU Core Speed:

Have a V8 cooler, temps never go over 48c, C-states are disabled in BIOS, Turbo mode is off, Voltage is at 1.35 and the PC doesn't crash. Anything less than 100% load it seems to stay at 4.2ghz.

Not only that but even with everything set to stock speeds in BIOS I get the same fluctuation during stress testing.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
_Luca

Found it. That board has APM which throttles CPU at 100% load which can't be disabled in BIOS.

Using Asus overdrive I can disable turbo core which also disables APM.

Now I'm stress testing away
