irony in memory cooling

when i bought my memory i thought it would be good to have a heat spreader on my memory, its overvolted and the memory syncs was warm/almost hot to the touch. after taking them off i give running memory bare a try, not one chip anywhere is even warm, its almost cold

While that may be true, I still like the look of the heatspreaders on my RAM :)

bare chips allow more uv goodness to be seen with my mobo, and the memory looks nonexistant if you look at it dead on
 
Get some heatsinks for the spreaders, or just toss 'em. That's how it is on some new video cards; the all in one HSF design will oftentimes take heat fromt he GPU and put it into the RAM chips, making them hotter. :p
