Iron Maiden project

im doing a case for my friends new system. hes a big iron maiden fan so im going to use that as the themethis is the case im using..

i designed a window for the side pannel, which is open to changes and suggestions seen as how i wont officialy be starting till wed when the case arrives.

also i may put a window on top havent decided yet but this is the concept for that, the circle is where a 120mm fan will be placed

ill be painting the case too, not exact on what color. i need some more ideas for the case, i think if i just do these windows it would look tacky and incomplete. there are some concepts from their music i was thinking of trying to work in such as "666 the number of the beast" and "2 minutes to midnight"
im also pretty much set on putting a blowhole in the front
i need some ideas so if anyone can think of some additions all are welcome

Paint it like a scheme from one of their album covers, for example like on the album piece of mind, paint the case black, red lettering or the inside lighted in red outlined in white.

ok i got anouther idea. i drew up a horrible 5 minute ms paint sketch.

well ok, so the grey area is the window the flag in the back i want to sort of tint the plexi not completely cover it, then ill glue the cut cut out logo of eddy on the plexi.

I am currently modding that same exact case. Be careful when handling the side panel on the right (facing the front bezel). It is very wobbly and it is easy to bend one of the edges so it won't lay flat. It is near impossible to get it to lay flat after you bend it. Otherwise a great case. Not really sturdy but not that flimsy either.

is it just weak metal or is it thin?

It is kind of thin, but that isn't the problem. The thing is it has no folds/creases at any of the edges so just imagine a flat piece of metal, makes it really easy to warp/bend.

The absolute best thing to do would be to forget the windows and get a bitchin paint job, maybe an airbrush job of two different album covers, one on each side, and then just Eddie on top, then for your fanholes, get custom made Eddie's head fan grills. It would cost an arm and a leg, but it would be super sweet.

Another idea, if you're set on a window, would be to make a really big ass window and design a collage of different forms of Eddie (The Trooper, Aces High, Killers, etc) and have the window etched with those, kind of like the guy that did the Megadeth mod on Gruntville (his name escapes me at the moment). If you're going to do it, go all out.

There are so many Iron Maiden possibilities. I like the idea of doing an Eddie the Trooper type of artwork or maybe Powerslave era (an Egyptian motif offers possibilities).

That's true, but, with the exception of the title track, the album Powerslave sucks donkeys for quarters.

Yeah, I know. I was just looking at that album from a purely 'art' standpoint. Wasn't even thinking about the album itself. Some of the colors used in the Powerslave cover could look pretty cool.

The Killers idea would be sweet (as you mentioned).
