iRiver H140?

I am looking to buy an MP3 player over the next couple weeks and I was looking at the iRiver H140. I am assuming this is the same as the IHP-140 as thats the only one I can find online in Canada. I will be using a pair of Etymotic microPro ER-4P with this.

My main priorities are sound quality (I really loved my minidisc player), storage space (I would also like to use it as a portable HDD), battery life, transfer speeds, and portability (I want to keep in in my pocket).

What do you guys think?
 
They just changed how they are referred to. The h1xx line will be discontinued for the h3xx line which has a color screen and buttons (instead of joystick).

Well that sucks, what about the remote control? I would go for the color one if it had a remote.

I don't think they've been discontinued but the H140 is the iHP140 just renamed and as far as I can tell you can still buy them. It comes with the usual nice LCD remote and everything else.

I think it'll be great for everything you're looking for.
 
Hey, if the remote bothers you then you can buy a remote seperately. You can use the H1xx remote w/the H3xx player and also there is a planned release for a new LCD remote for the H3xx.

Video playback is an option with the H3xx series if you care, even if it's a US player you can still flash it w/the Korean firmware. Granted the limited resolution is 220*176 @ 10 FPS, the video quality is very watchable. I have been able to watch Naruto w/subtitles w/out a problem.

Other benefits you may care about is: the ability to record from the radio, have a prettier screen, view pictures etc..

I wont be using it for video (I have a PDA which works awesome for movies), but I am interested in this one if I can get the remote. Where can I find the remote for this?
 
Hi, the new LCD remote is not out yet, supposedly it will be released but who knows. However you can use the old remotes from the H1xx series, you can probably buy it off of iRivers website or try to make a request at www.misticriver.net
