With standard PCI slots, and all 4 slots of memory filled with standard height memory, does an iram block the next slot (standard orientation) below it?

a pic of one and another card would be appreciated...

Id expect an iram to max the SATA bus, right? right around 150MB/s...

Im trying to figure if 2 of them would fit side by side as the two PCI spots in a SFF case... thatd be rather expensive though...

The iRAM with all four DIMM slots populated does not block the adjoining PCI slot so yes, you could run two of them together.
I don't have a good shot of mine installed but here is a HD Tach screenie...

Compared to my Raptor R0 array...

The iRAM's speed will enchant you for a while but it's real benefit as an OS drive is the absolute silence...it's eerie.

well heres what I was thinkin and you guys can correct me if Im wrong.

SFF gaming box, mATX, so 4 slots. Use the PCI-E for a graphics card with a big 2 slot silent cooler. Throw an iram into the 3rd or 4th (PCI) slot. With 2 HDD bays, put a raptor in one and a nice 300-400GiB drive in the other.

Repeatedly install games to the iram, but move each off the drive to ensure space requirements are met. Then, put together a batch file on the desktop instead of a shortcut for each game that copies the game data back to the iram for level load times during lan parties. the new gen raptor maxes at around 50MB/s IIRC, so the iram wont be the limiting factor.

A 2GB game data game should copy in around 41 seconds, if my math is right. After that level loads should be pretty damn quick.

With a proper batch file for the file copies, its nearly as easy as a standard load. Out of curiosty, an average game today takes up how much space? 2-3GB? Id check but the only game installed ATM is TA, which is 800MB.

As to the silence thing, ATM Im running 5 HDDs in my computer, and with the scythe ninja and arctic silencer, yate-loon fans on a controller in the P180, I sleep with it on 10 feet from my head every night and cant even hear it.
