New house we purchased requires me to place all my AV equipment in the closet behind the TV (Darn ;)). I have been looking at IR Repeaters and have come up with about $100. Think I can get a unit for cheaper? I need at least 4 sources right now. SmartHome sells the Xantech stuff but I was hoping to save a little. I would prefer a hard wire kit to the wireless solutions. Any help?

I love the Hot Link series.

You could probably make do with a Hot Link Pro for ~$70. If you needed to go over ethernet, you'll want the XL Edition. If you wanted to add another receiver, you can even do that with this.

I love mine. Can't say enough good about it.

I have a similar setup where my equipment is in a closet behind my TV. I drilled a hole in the wall and put a cover over it, then added a hotlink pro. It's currently working for my cable box, media PC, Onkyo Receiver, and my XBox 360.

Just to update for anyone else wondering. I got the Cables to Go unit I linked from Amazon and it works great. I had to double up the electric tape for the emitters on the peripherals.

+1 for the Hotlink. This was the only extender I found that worked reliably with a uverse STB.
