Hi,

I've been thinking about getting an IR filter for my Canon A70 but I've heard that many of the newer digital cameras don't collect IR light as easily as older ones... That in fact they are designed to automatically edit out light that they recieve from the IR range. So I have two questions:

1) Does anyone know if the Canon A70 picks up IR light well? I tried the old trick of pointing an IR remote at it and snapping a picture and found that it showed a bright blue dot on the remote's emiter... does that mean that it will work well for IR photography?

2) If it does pick up IR well, what filter would you recommend? I want something fairly cheap because this is pretty much just a "toy" purchase... I won't be doing anything too serious with it.
