Greetings All,

I've been reading this forum and finding it very helpful. I'm trying to pick a good IPS/PLS that is under $600 (preferably under $500). I will use it primarily for gaming, programming/text work, and a little bit of non-professional photography work (in that order). I've been using a Dell 2007WFP since 2006.

I did get a Dell U2412m, but found it had a bad yellow tint in most of its modes, so I returned it. I then learned about PWM and decided I should avoid that if I plan on doing text work.

Here is what I've found:

-HP Z24i ($325) - Very similar in price point, no PWM, semi-gloss, but some users have reported uniformity issues with certain panels (I've seen some reports users often get a PLS panel)
-Eizo EV2436WFS ($465) - Everything I liked about the U2412m without PWM, however it is quite a bit more expensive.
-Samsung S24A850D ($450) - No PWM, semi-gloss, but expensive and may have uniformity issues too.
-BenQ BL2710PT ($600) - Seems overall very good, 1440p, big, however it is significantly more expensive than the others. I'd prefer to stay under $500 if possible, but this is close.

Any thoughts? I keep my monitors for a long time, so warranty and customer service is also a factor (I like the zero dead pixel policy of HP/Dell and the 5+ year warranty on the Eizo).

Note: In the USA, so I cannot easily get a PB248Q or a BL2411PT.

Monoprice has good IPS 27" monitors. theres also korean PLS monitors if you dont mind up to 3 dead pixels (more than that gets replacement depending on vendor).

I will take a look at the Monoprice one. I haven't read much about it.

I am kind of picky about dead pixels, I will admit that, so I'll probably avoid the second option. I generally keep these monitors for a long time (5+ years), so I really want to be sure it has a good warranty / customer service.

I'm really leaning towards a high-quality 24-inch panel, but I could be convinced of the BenQ BL2710PT. I'm just not sure about their reputation for warranty support or customer service. I couldn't find any mention of their dead pixel policy. In general Dell, HP, and Eizo seem to have pretty good customer service (even if Dell has bad quality control out of the factory). My old Dell 2007WFP had banding issues and they replaced it right away, all shipping paid for.
