Ipod Touch is no longer recognized by XP Pro

Hey guys i need help:

I recently bought me a 16GB ipod touch.
1. install almost perfect, it hung the first time due to McAfee Virus scan
2. sencond time it worked fine, i got to load all my music to itouch, videos did not load.
3. i used the touch for 3 days prior to charging (onlty in gym)
4.I try using my USB flash on one of the ports in my screen and it didnt work (did not lid up). I switched to the other port and it worked, left for work and try using the ports on the screen and they did not work - i switched & only on ports in the computer itself work,
5. well next day i try using the ports on the computer no work - i get USB DEVICE NOT RECOGNIZED.
6. plug my itouch same error, printer works fine from computer usb, but not itouch or jump drives.

Anyone has any ideas -

FYI: everytime i check on the device manger my jump drive or itoch show Unkown Device - on properties it tells me that no drivers are install.
