I have used google but i find alot of old links. I have a 3rd gen iPod touch and want to know if I can use skype with my iPod touch and what the cost is. I don't know what it cost per month or what it cost to start up like buying equipment or whatever..

I hardly ever use the house phone and I feel the money I spend on it is kinda wasted. I have hi speed Internet and wireless in my apartment. The only thing I use is the touch, no pc at all.

I doubt if I talk on the phone for more then 4 hrs a month max, would skype be a good choice?? I am always somewhere with wifi and I can always connect to it. I'm just trying to save some of the wasted cash I spend on a home phone. Please help me out..

I have the 32g 3rd gen iTouch and use the free Skype to another pc. It works so awesome lol. Just hit the upgrade on skype and it will tell you the different packages and amounts per month.

edit - didn't read post above me sorry, he linked prices. It works so good I might get a package myself. you get skype from the app store.

2.95 a month is very cheap http://www.skype.com/allfeatures/subscriptions/

and I use http://www.sonystyle.com/webapp/wcs...10151&langId=-1&productId=8198552921666001159 headphones with mic because apple ones that came with it suck.

the i touch does not have a mic therefor you could not use skype. to use it with i-anything it would have to be an iphone or you would have to buy an adapter that allows you to use a mic on the itouch, which I have not ever seen. if there is one out thereI would get one in a heart beat as I am in the same boat as you went im out and about. here is an idea. you could use majic jack if you have a pc with highspeed. it works very well. or get a phone from a carrier like ntelos for 30 bucks a month.

This information is wrong. They come with earphones with a built in mic, and the new ones I bought linked above also have a mic built in. All the new 3rd gen I looked at had built in mic's in the headset along with volume controls.

Can you use a bluetooth headset with the iPod Touch?

The iPod Touch does support bluetooth headphones, to my knowledge. As long as it has the bluetooth chip, it has exactly the same functionality as the iPhone, sans the Cellular chip and onboard mic.

...and camera. The built in speaker is a little weak too by comparison.

Oh, thats right. I keep forgetting that it was the nano that got the camera and not the Touch. I don't even use the built in speaker on the iPhone, so I wouldn't really know. I always have a headset on
