Is there a way to disable the low battery warning and just let it play until the battery is dead?
 
Do you mean in the very extreme circumstances, where it's already been in the red for awhile? If so, Apple does that for good reason - it may actually be bad to completely drain the battery.

It is. I've killed my macbooks battery this way.
