(iPhoto)Exported photos come out smaller in size than original ones

Hi,

I'm trying to export the original sized photos using the export feature in iphoto so i may put them on a cd to take to print.

In the export menu, i keep format as "original" and the size i keep selected as "Full-sized images". Now once i check the folder with the exported files, they are all 2048x1536 in size which is smaller than the originals.

Any ideas why iphoto resizes my photos even though i tell it to keep the original size?
 
You might as well just put them in an album and select all to drag them straight out of iphoto onto your CD. That way it is just a copy function.

I don't know why it's doing that though, sorry.
 
Maybe its compressing to "fit on cd"? I know those "exporting" features do some sort of compression to fit on the media of your choice.
