iPhone.... Will It Blend?!

I have to admit, I haven't really cared for the items that have been destroyed in the process of launching a new product (it happens with every product practically), but every time I hear of some poor helpless iphone getting the hammer or the blend, it makes me a bit miffed.

Maybe it's because it's sexier than my girlfriend, or maybe it's because I want a rev. 2 oh so bad once it makes it out the apple doors....

The horror!!!! i cant look! i will destroy him!!!! What kind of world is this that a helpless iPhone must be destroyed?!

Even with the $400 retail value blender, look at that bid... it's basically the cost of the iPhone already, and you just know it'll go higher.

People will buy anything... maybe he should ship all that stuff in an "ORIGINAL PLAYSTATION 2 BOX" he could sell along with it <hint, hint, for those that remember that fleabay fiasco>. :D

hahahahah AWESOME!

i just loved seeing the various stages of the thing comming appart, first it was just the relatively intact iphone bouncing around, then the mayor bits came apart, producing a flurry of metal bits flying around, and then when the black plastic hits the blending knife *wham* instant black blendage

obviously i dont really condone destroying working electronics, but this was just damn awesome

The majority of the black material that results in the final "product" is the battery being shredded, but yeah, it's hilarious to watch. I figured someone would do the predictable stuff they've been doing to iPods for years now:

- drop 'em off a building
- drive over 'em
- shoot 'em
- sledgehammer them to bits
- tape an M80 to one
- take a baseball bat to one and knock it outta the park
- etc

But this one was totally unexpected and a blast to watch. :D

that smoke was mostly the result of the lithium battery... you really really dont want to breath that... besides that, i LOL'ed

DOH, didnt think of the battery in the device

that does add a bit of risk to the whole thing though

I could never understand why people would do this to perfectly good hardware... but now I realize that it's actually a blender company.... now that changes the whole perspective.

lol.... Capitan obvious needs to come give me a slap

I personally wouldnt have a use for an iPhone, I dont go anywhere that i wouldnt have access to anything special that the iPhone gives me... and if I really NEED one, im sure I'll have 3 or 4 friends with one :D

Video made me laugh :)

That thing could crank out some seriously smooth margaritas...

I worked at a restaraunt for 3 years and we used blendtech blenders, they work very well! The ones we used were about 800 bucks, commercial grade ones, never had one fail, the buckets got heavy use and the bearings would go out after awhile and need to be replaced, but they weren't too expensive.

Sweet video though.

570 dollars?? are you freaking kidding me? even if you get the 400 blender.. 170 for dust? WTS intelligence

I'd pay $600 for a blender if it's the end of all blenders. Seriously, I have a $200 blender here and the thing works like garbage.... trying to grind up ice... id rather use a hammer.

commercial food prep technology is expensive because it lasts. that blender you got at sears isnt going to stand up to 10 hours of constant use a day for very long.

No kidding...I've been through like 3 blenders since I got married. I used them near daily and they would only last a few weeks :(

I bet the guy in the video has nightmares about getting his hand stuck in one of these 5000 hp blenders. Will it blend?

It's genius. Pure genius.

Option a) Pay some advertising agency for marketing campaign of $400.00 blender. Maybe $15,000 for the account.

Option b) Buy $500.00 iPhone, borrow friend's video camera, turn blender on.

Option B seems to generate more buzz than any advertising pouges ever could.

Profit. :D

oh don't get me wrong.. i'll totally pay that much for a blender but it's now at 220 for dust.
