iPhone and 802.1x?

I'm really surprised that no one else is having this issue. Our university has 802.1x authentication and apparently the iPhone doesn't support this as of yet. Anyone heard when this might happen as an update?

mine works with my campus, what authentication system are you guys running? I can get my iphone to work with DistAuth, and CAS

iPhone doesn't work with Cisco. Cisco has said that they'll be more then happy to write a native VPN application for the iPhone, but Apple refuses until its SDK goes out.

Yeah our school uses Cisco with the peap authentication protocol so its a no go on the iPhone. At least until they release the SDK
