iphone 7 will not restore from backup or new/updated image

my iphone 7 was having severe issues staying on the verizon network. i swapped SIM card and it still showed no service. the useless folks at the store had no idea how to fix it. i decided to back up the phone and do a fresh restore. backup finished successfully. when i tried to restore i received a vague error from itunes. now, when you turn it on asks to be plugged in to itunes. when i do so itunes asks if i want to recover or restore. both options get about 50% there and then a vague error pops up and the process halts.

i have tried from 3 different computers mac and PC and they all do the same thing. is it bricked?
