iPhone 6-no navigation voice when charging in the car

So my wife got issued an iphone for work and she drives all over. She uses apple maps to navigate and when its charging in the car it doesn't play sounds over the phone. She has her other phone sync'd to the car and she'd like to be able to have the iphone just play out it's built in speaker. I assume the iphone is putting out audio via lighting to the stereo, I don't want that.. She wants to listen to her sirrius and have nav voice out the phone.

I looked for the setting, couldn't find it, need help from an apple expert
 
It's playing the audio over the USB connection. Easy fix is to charge the phone off a 12v to USB adapter, and the phone will charge faster presuming you buy a 2 amp USB adapter anyway.

Also you can drag up from the bottom of the screen (to open Control Center) and select the output target with the icon over the camera.
