iPad charging issue?

Hi everyone. I am incredibly new to iPads, but our company has two implemented at one of our centers for games for kids. I noticed when checking the iPads intermittently that they would not all stay at 100%. For instance, one of them stayed at 100% charged for a couple days and then now when I am looking at it it's at 61% and there has been no power loss or issues. The top right icon shows it's still charging.

The 2nd iPad was doing the same thing so I deemed it defective. Is this a iPad feature for when it's plugged in and on 24/7? That couldn't be the case for the 2nd iPad because it actually hit 0% after a couple days ON THE CHARGER.

Any ideas? Thanks!

How long have you had the iPads plugged into power? Take the iPad off the charger and hold the power and home buttons down until the iPad restarts and you see the Apple logo then release. That should clear any battery indication issues.

They're plugged in all the time. That's my point. They're set to be up 24/7. It's not just the indicator. The iPad actually ends up turning off even when plugged in. Turning it on again will show it at some low percentage.

what type of power brick are you using? unless you are using the 12w power brick it typically won't charge while in use.

I've had that issue sometimes with my 5S. plug it in to charge at night and in the morning it will be at 60-80% or sometimes less than what it was when I plugged it in.

I was using the stock charger and cable, apple said the battery was fine, replacement charger and cable did the same thing as well.

It hasn't done it in over a year now, so it may have been a software glitch with the charging system.

My iPad 3 hasn't had any charging issues at all, I've had it for 3.5 years now.
