ip35 w/ e8400 wolfdale

well sh*t on a shingle I already ordered my parts.

So this thing isnt going to post at all?

Is there a scheduled release date for the bios update?

I am building this for my cousin and he is extremely excited, added rush processing on newegg..lol I really don't want to disapoint him! Maybe I could resell it to a local retailer? hmmm....... theres always RMA
Be aware that the Abit IP35 boards do not fully support the E8x00 CPUs yet.

Abit is working on a bios update.

If you intend to overclock, you should be looking at this memory:

oh yea so why ddr 1000 opposed to 1066? I am trying to push this thing to 1333
I don't really care about 4gb, but could I do it w/ that kit you mentioned?

I just recently bought an ABIT IP35 pro from clubit, stuck my e8400 in it and it posted fine. I flashed to 16.b04 because bios 14 which it came with was giving me bad temp read outs.

And for the price differential between the two, it doesn't make much sense. The g.skills linked above are great, I was going to buy them but didn't have the extra cash :\. 4.5ghz on an e8400 would make me happy :p

whoops I forgot I ordered ddr 800, going to push it to 1000, question:
why is 4gb of ddr 1000 cheaper than 2 gb of ddr 800???

$115 is wayyyy too much for 2GB. The 4GB is a much better move although still a bit much for me. Still, it is PC10xx so I guess thats worth something.

Micron D9 chips on that memory, thats why I chose it...oc's to 1100
correct me if I'm wrong here

I doubt you'll get that rig to 550FSB. Or even 500FSB for that matter. Remember that the CPU is quad-pumped while DDR2 is double-pumped, so 1333 on the CPU is only 667 on the memory.

If you dont mind used, check fs/ft forums. Picked up same set for $50 shipped few weeks ago.
