I can swap my 4870 right now for dual 4850s but not sure if its worth it with my 16x\4x configuration on the IP35-Pro. It wouldnt cost me anything to do the swap so if its a little gain in performance its a free gain. Thx for any input.

Need more advice then that... I cant seem to locate any benches. I have read its only a 5% performance loss with the 4x slot but this is only in forums and not solid benches I can see.

You can always scale if you keep your HD4870, unless you're not planning to upgrade then you will see a slight gain in performance if you swap to a HD4850 setup. You must remember that not all games support a profiled CrossFire setup.

In all honesty I still say keep to your HD4870, it's plenty quick.

keeping the 4870 leaves you with a 4870x2+4870 X-fire route in the future, assuming you get another MB too. x48 or p45
