Ive recently been getting messages that theres a system error and ip conflict on my computer. does anyone know anything about this? thanks.

Your computer has the same IP as another on your network. Need more details though. Are you connected to a router supporting DHCP? What kind of network are you on? How many nodes do you have on your network. Are you using static IP?

You're trying to run Server '03 on a laptop yet have no idea what static ips are?

Likely someone else defined a static ip within the dhcp pool or theres a misconfiguration on the hotel's end with the result being multiple dhcp servers. Reboot and you should be issued a new ip. Since it apparantly isn't affecting your internet access, don't worry about it.
